I moved into my bungalow almost 5 years ago, the guy on one side is a know trouble maker and has a long record of violence, I've had the displeasure of being on the wrong end of a few of his episodes. 2 years ago, he verbally attacked me three times in 4 days and on two of these occasions, he was in my face threatening violence, I just walked away and have since ignored him. He was well known for being a nasty shortarse trouble causing twat in his younger years and only 3 years ago, he assaulted his son in law, no charges were pressed, so I assume, to keep the peace with his daughter, nothing was done. He's tried to start a conversation with me several times, but I continue to ignore him. When he first started getting arsey with me, I started keeping a diary, so I have a journal of the times and things he's said.
In February, I had the misfortune to get a new neighbour on the other side, not only did my other neighbour make friends with him immediately, but he started telling stories and lies about me, to make things even worse, my new neighbour has a dog that barks constantly. He can go out in the early hours and leaves the dog, only returning at midnight, some days he can be out the house for 17-18 hours. After 2 months, I'd had enough and spoke to him, he was nonplused and didn't care, so I contacted the local housing authority.
I told the housing officer that I'd been keeping a diary of the times the dog is barking, I've done this since late April and apart from one visit from the housing officer, nothing has been done. During the hotter days, he would chain the dog in the south facing front garden with water, but no shelter and the RSPCA don't want to know, I was informed, "we have more important things to do"!
On Sunday, I wanted to go for some shopping, but couldn't get in my car, because the newest neighbour had parked his car less that a foot from the drivers door on my car and I couldn't get in, I knocked on his door to ask if he would move it, but he refused, leaving me stuck.
On Monday I called the housing authority and made a complaint, I was told that me neighbour would be called and to make sure that all residents could get access to their vehicles. The guy did nothing more than go to the other neighbour to complain about my objection, big mistake, I happened to be laid on my bed and heard every word of their conversation and first neighbour was telling number 2 even more lies about me and the CCTV I have installed has microphones, so it's recorded.
I'm an easy going guy and am very happy "to live and let live", but these two are being total pricks and making my life hell and now neighbour number 2 has started bringing machinery on a trailer and there's a constant stream of old oil being trailed onto the driveways to the houses. He got another visit from the housing authority to clean it all up, but he's done nothing, so it's obvious he doesn't give a flying fuck to anyone in authority. So far there has been 13 individual complaints about him, his dog and vehicles, but nothing is being done, one local claimed his dog bit her daughter, but she won't report it as she doesn't want to get involved. Were is peoples common sense these days?
It got to the point where I've emailed my MP and hope she does something positive, but we all know how good MP's are at doing nothing, but I'll be happy to be amazed.
