Sleep clinic

I've been referred to a sleep clinic after sleeping tablets aren't working for me. I have ptsd after abuse and my muscles are tight when I try to sleep.
Has anyone much of an idea of what they might do?
I have AN idea after watching something on embarrassing bodies years ago but I think that could have been for an entirely different issue like narcolepsy or sleep apnea, neither of which I have.
So the cause of my sleep loss is very important here.
I think there's wires involved due to heart rate and possibly electrodes fitted to my head, but I move about an awful lot when I am shallow sleeping/trying to sleep so I don't know how they will get around that.
Also, I've heard from Internet sources that they can send you away with a monitor to go home with and complete the sleep study that way, but I'd much prefer to be in a hospital.
Thanks

I’ve been twice.

They attach electrodes all over your head. I can’t remember if they do the heart. They do your legs though.

They told me l had insomnia🤷🏼‍♀️No shit Sherlock.
