Sertraline and csection

Hi I did post this in childbirth section but I thought this might be more appropriate.

Did anyone have a c section while on sertraline? I'm wondering if it made any difference to pain relief you could take afterwards? Did you or baby need extra observations ect? Anything else?

I'm on 50mg, so quite a low dose. Thanks in advance.

I wasn’t on sertraline at the time, and I was given dihydracodeine after my elcs. I know that dhc and setraline are not a good combo with each other!

Not quite answering your question, but I imagine they’d have to give a strong painkiller that doesn’t interact with the ads.

Was on sertraline in both pregnancies. Both ended in c section. No issues with pain relief.

I was on 50mg setraline, had no issues at all. C section went well.

Thanks everyone for sharing, sounds like I'm worrying for nothing.

I came off sertraline at 35 weeks, had c-section at 36+6 and then went back on sertraline when baby was 4 days old. I had paracetamol, ibuprofen and oramorph afterwards.

I was on 200mg a day when I had DS via ELCS. No issues at all with painkillers. The main concern would have been discharging me with very strong painkillers because of my history rather than taking them in the first place. DS was quite sleepy when he was born and I was concerned it was the sertraline but the consultant said it wasn't linked at all.
