CBT - online or self help approaches

NC for this as don't want it associated with my usual posts.

Hi all,

I experience and suffer with anxiety, depression and OCD.

About four years ago I had a therapist and she taught me CBT techniques. I applied these religiously and saw such a change to my life. However after about 6months I stopped practising the CBT and in time I forgot it.

Fast forward to now. I've come off my mental health medication as I am trying for a baby (I was on medication for 10+ years). My symptoms for my mental health difficulties have really started to come back and I am struggling.

I want to do CBT again but I would prefer to do it via a self help work book or digital counselling (if there is such a thing).

Does anybody have any recommendations for CBT self help books or digital courses, sessions etc? What I am struggling with specifically is panic attacks at the moment and anxiety.

Thank you so much

Look up the problem specific workbooks on GetSelfHelp, try the book 'Break free from OCD' by Challacombe and Salkovskis. There's also some good free workbooks if you google CCI anxiety workbooks (its an Australian website). Good luck with your goals.

If you sign up for a membership with anxiety U.K. you can get access to a CBT programme called beating the blues. You'll also get a years membership to Headspace and access to discounted group or individual therapy.

If you have the time (there's about 30 hours of video, but no time limit) I'd really recommend the Udemy course;

www.udemy.com/course/cognitive-behavioural-therapy-online-course-cbt-practitioner-course/

Don't be put off by the "Practitioner" bit - most people do it for their own self development and, if you click on the link a few times, the price magically drops to around £20! Kain has a excellent presenting style and covers everything from the history of CBT to demonstration sessions.
