Can I take fluoxetine and ibuprofen together?

I take 20mg of fluoxetine each day and have bad period pain today. I have taken paracetamol but it hasn't helped. Before being prescribed fluoxetine in November, I would have taken ibuprofen for period pain, which usually helped. Can I take ibuprofen alongside the fluoxetine?

Can you ring a pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for advice? Or does the info leaflet have any advice. ?

I do regularly and have never had any problems, doctors have never mentioned anything either.

I have done plenty of times and have had no issues.

Interactions between your drugs
Moderate
ibuprofen FLUoxetine
Applies to: ibuprofen and Prozac (fluoxetine)

Using FLUoxetine together with ibuprofen may increase the risk of bleeding. The interaction may be more likely if you are elderly or have kidney or liver disease. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you and has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, or have other signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black, tarry stools; coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that looks like coffee grounds; severe headache; and weakness. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Found this online if it helps. It seems it's fine just keep an eye on any bruising or bleeding issues.

I've combined occasional NSAIDs with a different sort of SSRI for a long time. I think though that you should ask a pharmacist or your GP for advice. It's probably fine but we don't know your medical history. Hope you feel better soon.
