New House Anxiety

Hey everyone,

First time posting here :)

Me and my partner have moved into a new house a week ago we are first time buyers.

I am struggling quite a bit to accept the new house as "home" we loved where we lived before but couldn't rent forever and we do love the house we are in it's just not home.
New noises are startling me and hearing neighbours bang doors is unsettling.
Has anyone advice on how I can make the new house feel more like home and how I can quickly grow accustomed to the new noises? I seem to be making plans to do things out of the house more.

We have already unpacked and started hanging bits on walls but this hasn't helped.
Don't wanna sound like a drama queen I just feel homesick.

Thanks everyone.

Becky

You are not a drama queen at all! New home anxiety is absolutely a thing.

The main thing that will help is time. You will eventually settle in and your new place will start to feel like home. In the mean time, make sure you have routine, are eating healthy etc. Take time to get out and explore your new neighbourhood too. Decorate with stuff from your old home, but start from fresh too. Do you have much of a garden? If so, get out there and get your hands in the soil. Start planning what you can do to make it yours

I hope you feel settled soon Flowers
