I've just been prescribed sertraline for insomnia and anxiety. I've never taken anything like this before and was wondering if someone could tell me any expected side effects etc?

Hi, how are you doing? I'm in the same boat. I'm on week 5.

I would like to know how you're getting on too as I'm in the same boat.

I've been taking sertraline for 3 months now. The side effects have all gone but the insomnia still remains. I do still get night sweats. Horrible. GP has given me phenergan 25mg. That helps me dose off. My insomnia is worse the week before and the week of my period. I really thought the sertraline would fix my insomnia. I have real horrible sleep anxiety. The sleep deprivation is causing my anxiety to worsen. I really don't wantvto be on sleeping tablets. Tried loads. I build tolerance ver quick, so stop working.

If the sertraline doesn't help then I might lower but I am a bit frightened too. Docs had said the antidepressants will calm everything f ienand that will in turn help my sleep.

50mg, no side effects. Just glorious normal life free from panic, visualising my house burning down, free from intrusive voices telling me to throw my child down the stairs, free from the constant chest pain which convinced me I had a heart condition.... won't come off these. My GP explained how we all have individual differences in how our bodies process serotonin and that it's like taking a vitamin for my mental health.
