I have completed the first day of a two day course. It is very intense, a weighty text book, high level of independent learning, group work and discussion of topics like suicide and depression. I think it is a really good course and will be useful in my work. But my head is mush! I think work tomorrow will be light relief, and I deal with some distressing issues, situations.

I have psychosis and eating disorders to study for the final day later this week. Anyone else done the course? If so have you used the strategies?

Yes I have done the course, very intense and our facilitator did let people talk a lot about their own issues with no real boundaries so that's why it made me feel so worn out at the end of each day. I haven't used the strategies at work as not needed to but I do have a tea break with colleagues who are feeling burned out so they can let it out for a bit and they call it the first aid tea break

Yes intense is the word! Which possibly explains the typo in my title 🤦I did share my own experiences with the group in the break out sessions. But I am all for breaking down Mental health taboos so was ok with that. However it is still pretty exhausting. I will be ready for a g&t on Friday night and I don't care if that is an unhealthy way to relieve stress!

I think I will apply some of the strategies with clients and the resources are really helpful as well. Definitely worth doing the course.
