I’m really struggling without my meds. I’m moody, miserable and crying all the time. I’m paranoid about my partner and I’m a terrible mother to my 6 year old. Doctors just suggest going on meds but they might harm the baby. I don’t know what to do or if I’m going to survive this pregnancy.

Have you come off the medication completely? What advice have you been given?

Doctor says to try quetiapine so am going to give that a go.

Sorry OP this sounds unbelievably shitty. Have you discussed monotherapy with lamotrigine with your doctor?

Through my work I see quite a few women with BPAD who do well on this. Good luck.

Quatiapine is really good for the condition. We’re you on valproate or something like that?

I was on 1200mg of lithium but it’s really not safe to take in pregnancy.

It’s not going to be easy but quatiapine is brilliant and if it’s safe, I’d say go for it. Stay strong, use your support network and you’ll get through it.
