How are you doing?

Not at night time, generally.

Fluoxetine is known to be more of a stimulant so is best taken in the morning. It can cause insomnia, particularly for the first few weeks when you start taking it or increase the dosage.

Everyone reacts differently though, so it's a big trial and error to find out what works for you.

I used to be on it (max dose eventually) and was having terrible insomnia and nightmares. I was splitting the dose between mornings and night. The psychiatrist said not to do that, to take the whole lot in the morning and that she’d never recommend taking it at night.

I used to take it at night..., no issues. I didn’t get on with the drug anyway

I had terrible nightmares too, I always take it in the morning.

I take it in the morning. It’s a lifesaver for me.

Thank you all, I’m a few days in and have been taking about midday, I’m finding it’s helping me sleep better (usually I’m up lots in the night) and so far no feeling drowsy in the day.

That’s all I’ve noticed until today, I’ve felt quite sleepy and low in my mood and a bit spaced out. Is this normal? I just want to feel better, whatever that is. Not been happy or motivated for a long time. Everything feels a slog.
