Was in a queue for First Response 24hr support for MH help for my child. Gave up after 10 mins.

Tried Samaritans for someone to offer me emotional support for me to help me son. On hold for 10 mins there. Gave up.

So I'm sat here sobbing while my son continues to slap himself around the head.

I'm sorry

I would expect a 10 min wait in normal times though

Is it worth contacting these guys, they might be able to get you a referral?

I was 4th in the queue, which would have meant a 40 min wait.

Samaritans normally answer more quickly.

I just feel so, so alone.

It's been like this for years. I've never managed to get through to the samaritans. Always waited half hour only to be cut off or get a recording tell me to leave a message.

OK then, I'll just get on.
