Has anyone improved their mental health with psychedelics?

There’s been some news articles and research studies published recently and over the years about the therapeutic benefits of certain psychedelic drugs such as psilocybin mushrooms and LSD.

As someone who has always suffered with some level of anxiety and / or depression to varying degrees, I’ve found psychedelics to be the only things that had a significant and very fast impact on my mental health. Obviously I felt better while I was physically high on the drugs but I also felt completely different for around 6 months afterwards. It seemed to eradicate that negative thinking / internal negative dialogue over night and just break the pattern.

The research supports this that most people experience an improvement either permanently or for a few months after a single dose. I’m fascinated by how powerful this stuff is and how much it’s helped me. For me unfortunately the impact wasn’t permanent I gradually slowly went back to negative thinking patterns. I think you have to implement what you ‘learn’ in the trip to make lasting changes.

I hope one day these drugs are approved for legal use in therapeutic settings as I think this would have maximum impact (as opposed to with a group of friends as I did).

I now have a child and am pregnant with a second so obviously this route isn’t an option to me but I’ve felt my mental health slipping again so hope to be able to do it again one day.

I just wondered if anyone else had had similar experiences?

Obviously people can have ‘bad’ trips also but I never had an issue with this despite being a very anxious person.
