Why are there toddlers in your bed? Perhaps if you could sort out the sleep thing, you'd feel so much better.

Lulumama · 15/11/2007 10:27

why does your dress not fit?

you need a plan

lists, organisation , spreadsheets !

then you will feel in control

make sure you are eating good , noursihing food, and sleep if the boys sleep

KittyletteItBe · 15/11/2007 10:28

Ds2 is really clingy at the moment, he cries if i leave him for a second and he wont go to bed alone. Iv e tried i really have but like i said ive lost the energy and will to keep on trying.

Dress doesnt fit because ive put on weight

it did fit

have you tried any techniques, like rapid return to get them in their own beds?

Wisteria · 15/11/2007 10:32

walk, walk, walk. It's how I got into mine after dd1!

It will make you feel better, (if you can walk for half an hour in the am before breakfast it will boost your metabolism). For some bizarre reason it gives you more energy even if you feel shattered before you start.....

Don't know how old dss are but take them with you; more fresh air = better sleep too.

Lulumama · 15/11/2007 10:32

you're not pregnant are you?

Wisteria · 15/11/2007 10:32

Maybe it's a water retaining day? I can blow up like a balloon sometimes.

KittyletteItBe · 15/11/2007 10:36

No, not pregnant, done 3 tests, plus i have a sore throat so the sickness is a cold rather than MS

i thought you weren;t TTC until after the wedding, for this very reason

start walking as has been advised, get off teh PC and get the boys to the park, have a run around for an hour, soup for lunch and then everyone lies down for a rest....

KittyletteItBe · 15/11/2007 10:41

im NOT pg and today is the first time ive sat down and been on the PC for ages, Ive been out walking every day for about a week trying to get everything organised for the christening

and my boys go to the park at leat 4 times during the week

ok - what are you eating Kitty? Give me what you ate yesterday, being 100% honest and even admitting the odd children's leftovers you eat!!

I can help you.

KittyletteItBe · 15/11/2007 10:47

Yesterday i ate...

was feeling really ill in the morning so only had a bite of toast,

for lunch i had a 'good for you' egg cress butty from morrisons but only ate half as it was a bit rank.

then half a dry teacake, with a bottle of water

for dinner i had pasta &carbonara sause with 2 pieces of 'good for you' garlic bread.

OK - you're not actually eating enough so your body will be going into panic mode and storing.

What you are eating is not going to help. Avoid 'low fat' products and 'good for you' stuff. It generally isn't that good for you believe me. try to calorie count at between 1300-1500 a day (you burn off 2000 by doing bugger all so if you stick to that you will lose weight (and inches))

Eat little and often so, example:

Get up and do half hour aerobic exercise which means raising your heart rate so you feel a bit breathless (it would be hard to have a conversation at the same time).

Aim to drink a pint of water with each meal.

Eat a bowl of cereal/ for instance bran flakes with low fat plain yoghurt or skimmed milk and some fruit (look for stuff that scores low on GI index, melons, grapes etc)

Mid morning have a couple of rice crackers thinly spread with something you like (low fat cheese/ houmous etc)

Lunch, big jacket potato/ brown rice with chicken breast and lots of salad with small amount of dressing, fruit or l/f yoghurt.

Mid afternoon eat some fruit/ carrots/ celery with a l/f dip or make a load of low fat veg soup and have that on stand by as a quick fix!

Evening meal - try to avoid carbohydrates and stock up on plenty of veg - try to stick to chicken or fish like Tuna or salmon.

Try to avoid alcohol during the week and then allow yourself a day a week when you eat whatever you want.

HTH

Oh and when you have been dieting for a while and start to plateau it helps to swap your meals around so eating your dinner at breakfast etc - confuses the body and makes it work harder!!

It's not particularly easy to stick to the routine I have mentioned I know (I'm always falling off the wagon) but it does work. Don't beat yourself up if you have a crap day and binge, just make up for it the following day

PositivelyMellow · 15/11/2007 11:08

Another good tip I read was to do 30 minutes cardio.. ie walking, running each morning before breakfast, apparently this helps you burn the fat quicker... I would probbaly faint if I attempted it.

Another tip, is to try to do different exercise each day. ie one day walking with boys, next day swimming, next day some light weights [which can be done at home with heavy things], I have been known to use bricks and cans of beans etc etc

Can Dp help out a bit so you can have some time to yourself?

Do you know a good seamstress who could alter the dress for you so you do not have this worry?

Hope you feel better soon.
