Setraline to Citalopram

Hey guys. I just want to get advice on how to deal with my partner who’s been experiencing emotional bluntness due to setraline.

It’s been getting progressively worse the last month and he admitted a few days ago that he just has this emotional block when it comes to showing basic love and affection. He also lacks empathy to the extent where if I feel like I need to talk to him he will quite easily snap and turn a situation back around on me which was never like him before he went on these tablets.

It’s been extremely difficult because I love the bones of this man but he’s pushing me away. I try so hard not to blame myself and blame the tablets for doing this to his mind.

As a last resort to try save the relationship his doctor has changed his tablets to Citalopram but I’m unsure of what dose he’s been recommended.

I know every person is different when it comes to taking antidepressants but will this change be any good? I’m at my wits end and have been feeling so neglected by this man that it physically pains me that I could potentially have to walk away and I’m really not trying to be selfish. I understand he needs to be on the tablets for his mental health but it’s impossible to be supportive when I’m being pushed away and ignored

Any advice would be seriously appreciated x
