Hi everyone
I have just been put on sertraline from 50mg and now two weeks on 100mg
I feel extremely low still and stressed. Does anyone know when this will get better? Or do I need more?

When you say 'just' how long did you give the 50mg before upping to 100mg?

Oscarbin · 02/05/2021 16:31

I was on 50 for 4 weeks then adjusted to 100

I was on 50mg for a month then upped to 100mg. I think it took a few weeks until I felt I’d turned a bit of a corner although I had occasions when I felt better before that. Over the next few months things improved but I was also having CBT. Things will get better for you but o know how hard it is while waiting for the ‘good’ days! Good luck!x

I'm on Sertraline (though in combination with a long-term mood stabiliser, so not your exact situation).

(Recently, hopefully just for a short while, was upped to 200mg from a long time on 150mg. That dose had suited me and obviously took a fair old time to build up to!)

I do remember feeling Sertraline still wasn't helping at all, in the first 100mg week, up from 50mg.
And then suddenly everything clicked, life gradually felt less overwhelming, and I noticed I was even enjoying what had only a few days before interested me in no way whatsoever.

Small things, but made a massive difference after such a shit low.
As you will know.

On the plus side, compared with the previous SSRI, I find far milder side effects with Sertraline. Have you had any?

Hang on in there. I hope you, too, get an easier time soon.
