Codine to feel better

I’m fed up of taking Sertraline for weeks and not being back to my usual self. I just want to take some codine in the hope that it spaces me out enough to feel ‘better’ for a while.

Keep on with the sertraline but go back to your dr, they may increase the dose for you.

Codeine may feel like it's helping in the short term but it's a tricksy drug, and is addictive. It can also make you constipated, which no body wants!

I take codiene at night. I have fibro and arthritis but find it does help me get to sleep better. I do not suffer with constipation, I have IBS-D, I would LOVE it to bung me up!Grin

I just want to stop feeling so sad and detached.

@Lineofduty2021 how long have you been on the sertraline? I was on it 12 weeks and felt worse so switched to something else and now I feel great

Please go back to your gp. Codeine is not the answer Flowers

You probably know this, but codeine is an opiate, in the same class as morphine and heroin. It definitely makes you feel nice! But that's a slippery slope to addiction. You should only take it for pain relief, and even then with caution.
