Antidepressants with another med

I'm taking olanzapine along with fluoxetine for depression. Sort of wish i wan't taking the olanzapine as it increases appetite and makes me quite sleepy.

However I am very anxious and worse without it. It does seem to help. I think the fluoxetine is quite 'stimulating' and it sort of moderates that / is calming

I have been on these meds for six years now, have yearly blood tests to check I'm not starting to develop diabetes

Just wondered if any others on the same kind of combinations (antidepressant plus antipsychotic or mood stabiliser) and how you deal with it?

I'm trying a low card diet and found some info online about how it causes weight gain and how to combat that. Going to keep swimming as well.

Maybe if I try and stay healthy in other ways it will prevent the negative effects

DB takes Olanzapine and Fluoxetine. He takes them at night time. Healthy eating and cardio exercise are the best things. You sound like you are doing the right things x

Thanks yes I do as well (night) as the olanzapine is quite sedating. They are also used for bipolar understand as well as depression.
