I've been good all lockdown much less anxiety as few people around.
Sorted out eating drinking everything so thought I would practice driving. All good.then I contacted a new go who said anxiety panic is a reason to revoke licence.
I can have sertraline or CBT.She said to think about it and has prescribed sertraline.
I don't want to set back from my happy self I just want to stop the attacks.
Any advice please

I have suffered with anxiety for years and sertraline has helped me so much in the past 3 months :).

That is good Lindaellen.
The GP said think about taking it but I've had anxiety for 4 yrs.Did you suffer with side effects?

It's helped me too an unbelievable amount. No side effects I don't think but I was so sick when I started it it was hard to tell what was the anxiety and what was a side effect.

Do you mean vomiting wishingthinkinghopingpraying? I have emetophobia so any sickness would be a no no.

No not vomiting from the treatment.

Sertraline has changed my life so much. Highly recommend it. However my anxiety got worse in the first ten days which is a normal side effect so be prepared for that.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/04/2021 07:34

The best thing (proven by research) would be both! But if for some reason you can only have one (cant think why that would be) Setraline will work faster.

Anotheronetwo · 04/04/2021 07:36

I also think both if you can. Both have helped me.

whatisforteamum · 04/04/2021 07:39

Oh thank you.i have contacted healthy minds.
Tbh my concern is as I feel so happy and motivated it is just the anxiety. The gp said think about it,I would ve thought after 4 yrs of this she would think it was a good idea.

Therapist is calling Monday which I never expected to be so quick. I guess it is for an initial consultation.

Sertraline saved my life. It's not for everyone but you might aswell try 🙂

whatisforteamum · 11/04/2021 19:31

Incywincyspiders thank you.It was the GP asking if I was sure that made me unsure.🤣

Try both for sure. If the meds make you feel unwell wean yourself off them. Some people get symptoms. Some don’t. Dry mouth is very common but it’s just annoying!
But surely they’re worth a try? You’ve got nothing to lose.

Cbt is great. I didn’t like it at first but then I loved it.

Many people don’t get the chance so grab it while it’s offered!

I hope these things are great for you and everything works out well.

Elieza thank you. I've had CBT before once it worked well last time I was too depressed exhausted and busy for it to count.Ive never tried meds I just want my old panic free self back tbh.
Fed up of the restrictions on my life anxiety causes.Thank you all for replying.
