Anyone been on Prozac? Just wondering how long before you felt it helped.

I was prescribed Fluoxetine around Christmas. I stayed on the lowest dose for 6 weeks, no noticeable improvement and it gave me chronic insomnia.

I moved to Sertraline due to the impossible insomnia. I still get insomnia but not as bad, however yet to see benefits.

I started Fluoxetine in January and gradually I Have felt a positive difference in my mood. Recently felt increased lift in mood but still have difficult times but definitely better then before.

I find it really hard to cry since taking the medication.

Sorry to hear it didn't help middleeager.

Thanks sugarlost. I've not been taking it for long so just wanted to see how long it seems to take before a real effect is noticed. Hoping it helps me.

Thanks, hoping I will see some benefits soon from current AD.

I hope it works out for you and you feel the effects soon.

Was on the lowest dose and felt an effect within a fortnight. Stopped comfort eating. Friends said they saw a noticeable difference. Was on it for two years and it saved my perimenopause, bereaved, boss-bullied life.

Hope the new ADs help, middleager.

That's great to hear, SweatyBetty20. I am hoping it helps me with my comfort eating as well as that's a big issue I have. I have heard some stories of people gaining weight though so hoping that doesn't happen.
