Is it at all possible to have ADHD and ASD alongside it?

I have an adult DD (20) who thinks she may have ADHD (inattentive type) but when I read ASD traits I do see a few resemblances in how she is.

Yes, they can co exist quite frequently.

It is. Has she asked to be assessed ?

sandgrown · 21/03/2021 08:47

I think you can have both. My 19 year old son is waiting to be assessed but the list is very long .

How does an adult get assessed for these conditions and does going through that process affect things like driving (notifiable to DVLA)?

Deedyn · 21/03/2021 08:54

She is waiting but in all honesty I don’t see us being able to access services without going private.

Yes, the two go together, but sometimes what can appear to be ADHD is part of sensory processing differences linked to autism.
