I am on SSRI (sertraline) and my appetite has extremely increased. I put on 5 kilos in 1 month. Please help!
I saw a psychiatrist recently but he didn't help much re the side effect. He said Sertraline or escitalopram are best if you are breastfeeding. Also said it is not a typical side effect of sertraline. But I am pretty sure, in my case, it is. And, unfortunately, when I gain weight I feel more depressed. Vicious circle.

I gained wait on sertraline, I think weight gain and loss a re listed as side effects although weight loss is more usual.

I think weight loss/ gain is a side effect of many ADs. I am on something different and have gained 30lb in 3 months That's more than I gained during pregnancy. Thankfully I was underweight to begin with so it's not too terrible but it is stressful and can't continue.

I agree overrated I gained a similar amount and am now struggling to lose it, some doctors do find it hard to understand that if you look in the mirror and don;t like what you see this will increase your depression.

I've been on venlefaxine for almost a year now and am really really struggling to lose weight - no matter what i try even Xenical which stops you retaining fat nothing works.
I was size 14 when i got pg with dd and was really careful when pg. I'm now a 20. It's all on my belly too which is where i normally lose easily from
