Sertraline to citalopram

So fed up. Has anyone had success switching from sertraline to citalopram? I'm week 3 of an increase to 100mg (50mg 8 wlks before that) and feel
Truly awful the last two days. I seems to have a few 'ok days' then back to worse than ever. I can't keep going like this. I was on citalopram for 13 years and it worked great once it kicked in. I'm sure I didn't wait this long to feel relief on citalopram and was back at work after a fortnight whereas I've been off for ages this time

Is it the other way around that you're switching (citalopram to sertraline)? I ask as you wouldn't be on 100mg on citalopram.

I made a straight switch about a month ago from citalopram 40mg to sertraline 50mg. Having been feeling off for a month or so I thought it was time to change AD, after being on citalopram at that dose for a few years.

I didn't notice much different in the first couple of weeks, except some trouble sleeping and more regular bowel movements. But the last two weeks or so have been challenging, with intrusive thoughts, spells of anxiety, catastrophising, trouble sleeping, feeling just 'off' etc coming and going. I've gone into a bit more detail on the sertraline hand holding thread, which you may want to check out if you haven't already.

Be assured there are others out there going through similar, I'm also hoping that they start to really kick in any day. I hope you start feeling better soon.
