Sertraline & ache

Hello 👋🏼

I have always suffered with my mental health & always been on & off tablets.

In the last year & half I have been through some very dark times which were made darker by covid.

I have been put back on Sertraline (which I was on a few years back 2010) but have noticed since taking them my skin has broke out in little pimple like boils under my skin on my face & also my face has before very dry / sore.

Has anyone else suffered with this?
It's not coming up on the side effects so thought it would be worth an ask on here.

It's just something else to add to the endless list of things just making me feel down.

Other than the pimples & sore face I have started to feel a difference since taking the tablets which is a positive thing.

Hope everyone is keeping well & staying safe out there.

TIA 🙂

Yep I have only been on them 4 weeks and along my jaw line and sides by my ears I have little spots under my skin and small dry patches, my skin just feels rough and sore. I’ve never been someone who gets spots even as a teenager and have always had clear skin. So the only thing I can put it down to it the Sertraline.

@Surfdayssun

This sounds exactly the same as me. Hopefully it'll clear up! I spoke with the doctor as my face got really sore, she explain that the medication can make you skin more sensitive so maybe that's what caused it. I'm currently on week 3 so a week behind you.

How are you finding it? I'm starting to notice a difference but not massively.

Actually my skin has been quite bad but I didn't think to associate it, as I also came off the pill at a similar time, which controlled my skin well.

Maybe there is a link!

Part of me wants to go back on the pill, but it made my anxiety worse. Maybe that'd be solved by the sertraline though!

But yeah, now I think of it, it has been worse.

@LindaEllen

Looks like it could be a popular thing!

I've also come off the pill, I was at a high risk of having a stroke so had to come off it & progesterone only pill didn't work for me so I'm not on the pill.

I have never had skin like this. It's so bad & so sore.
My skin is normally so clear.
