Hello

Iv just recently being diagnosed with autism and I was wondering if there are any other people out there with autism that may be able to give me a helping hand on how to deal?

Hi. I've found Chris Bonello's Austistic Not Weird Facebook page really helpful so that might be a good start. It's got a safe, friendly, positive vibe and he shares people's questions for followers to offer advice as well as giving lots of useful info himself. He has a website too: autisticnotweird.com/

I'm waiting for an assessment. There's a very active FB group which I've found helpful. It's called Women with Autism/Aspergers UK Support Group.

@gellico I don't have any social media to go onto anything. :(

Oh, sorry, I didn't think of that! There is a support thread on the with SN board [[https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnetters_with_sn]] which you'd probably find better for getting more answers.

Sorry the link didn't work it's www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnetters_with_sn

Where in the UK are you? In Scotland there is post diagnosis support through a pilot scheme but that's not much use if you are elsewhere.

Have you tried to contact any of the big autism charities to ask if they provide any support?

nicolemercedes · 09/03/2021 16:59

@Gingerkittykat at present I'm in south east of England but I'm a military wife and I'm due to move when my husband gets back from Iraq in June
