I know there are general support threads for various things, but I was wondering if anyone wants a daily check in/rant/vent/‘deep chat’ mental illness thread? (Similar to the Village threads a while back if anyone remembers!)

I’m really struggling atm (not just because of covid & lockdown, but my mental health is generally very crap), and was wondering if anyone else would like a thread where you can just come on and have a rant or cry or whatever and get everything off your chest? And we can give advice or just provide hand holds and Brew and Flowers if needed:)

Personally I have bpd, ptsd & depression (and other stuff - but those are the main ones giving me grief atm!), and I’m very stressed because of family, work, housing - basically everything hahah

Hi! Id love that!
I have BPD,cptsd and depression too...isn't it a rollercoaster of emotions...
What support do you get?
Xx

Hi, that sounds like you're having quite a difficult time. Sorry you're struggling 💐
I definitely understand how hard a combination of family, work and housing stress is. I have a lot of mental health problems in my family, so that's ongoing stress. Work haven't been very supportive about my mental health issues. My private landlord is awful but my income is greatly reduced during lockdown. I can't afford to move, as the only places I can afford are in rough areas.

You can rant all you want on here 💐 Hope you've got support and meds that help xx

@Namechange1991x hi!

Ugh, as if depression on its own wasn’t bad enough - the double whammy of bpd and cptsd is just awful. The constant emotional rollercoaster is so tiring isn’t it?? I long for just one day where my mind is peaceful!

I’ve been on sertraline for years and have fortnightly talking therapy sessions. None of it is really specific to my BPD/PTSD though so as grateful as I am to be getting support (which I am loads - I know not everyone is so lucky), I wish I was getting some more a bit more tailored to that. I’m considering going private tbh.
I hope you’re getting support as well! xx

@Lokikitty hi! and thank you Flowers, I’m sorry you’re struggling too. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I’m sorry your work hasn’t been supportive, that’s so unhelpful. Do you have anyone designated to deal with that sort of thing/eg accessibilities in the workplace (obviously that depends on where it is you work - a lot of places are sadly still quite crap with it).

Family mh issues are really difficult - my 18 yo DD has an eating disorder & anxiety and is currently getting assessed for BPD and it really does take its toll, especially if you’re mentally unwell yourself.

I’m sorry to hear about your landlord too; I’m privately renting as well so I know your struggles. I wish I had some helpful advice, but I’m hear for you, and this is a safe space for you to rant all you want as well Flowers. I hope you have some support from doctors/other family/friends if possible? xx

I have an 18year old DD too. She struggles to cope with stress like me. She's doing her uni work online. We support each other. I have some lovely colleagues at the school where I work. I don't have a good manager, which makes a big difference.

Hope your DD has support with the ED 💐
