Gutted - citalopram

I was taking 10mg citalopram since September. The first reaction was great, woke up feeling great. I was taking it at night. I was vv tired for 4-6 weeks and was thinking of giving up then it got better. I think dehydration might have been behind that. It was causing insomnia so I switched to taking it in the morning, that was fine. I had been fine on it for 4 months.

I started a medication for a physical condition and have been adjusting to that. Just switched that one to night and thought I would try the citalopram at night as it helps me get up in the morning.

Aagh! It has been a couple of weeks and god the dreams! I tried 10pm, now 4pm and still awful. The insomnia was back last night so had double whammy- bad evening, late night and awful dreams. I feel a bit beaten. Any suggestions?

Do you you need to talk to the doctors about possible interactions between the tablets ?

Thanks for the suggestion, they are not contraindicated but I only started the one for the physical condition two months after citalopram so its hard to know what is what.

I had a good chat with someone. I also think I overdid sugar so blaming that partly. Have eaten well and feel a bit better.

As your doc about maybe taking vitamin d in the morning maybe? I had bad insomnia (still do to an extent) but taking vit d does help. I can literally stay up all night otherwise. Now its 2/3am I go to bed.
