PND, undergoing treatment . Previously posted about my problems .

Just wondered if anyone ever has the urge to just, run away? I can’t stop thinking about it.

I got the urges, but never acted on it. I drank myself into oblivion instead at the time so ran away from my head in that way.

@FlappyFish wish I could do that , I’d be so up to drinking right now if I had anything in. Got my daughter to look after though ☹️

I did for the first 5 years of child's life.

I now feel it again as child is trans. Devastated for the difficult path she's on. Also feel that 14 years have been a lie.

Yes when I had small babies, much less so now they’re school age. They are just intrusive thoughts, don’t judge yourself for it. I found running helped a bit. Should probably have sought proper help, which it sounds like you are, so well done.

Yes. The way I deal with it is to accept it
As a fantasy and not to act on it

I’m sorry to hear that Chimera it sounds tough, you’ve got through it before though so you know you can again.

Yes, I have PTSD from a rape and he left me with herpes so not like I can even forget it. It’s kicking in majorly now I’m effectively “trapped” in my house with 3 kids and a job and all those emotional and practical needs.

I won’t though and neither will you, the kids come first right? You need to find some things for you, I’ve just re-contacted my psychiatrist to see if she can help me see a way through.

When you’re walking through hell, just keep walking x

When things get on top of me I do think it would be easier to run away. For some reason when I think of it I always seem to think I'd choose Inverness. No idea why but it always seems my chosen destination.

I did when I had pnd. Ran away to a cafe, had coffee and cake (two rounds!} and sat as long as I could. Then I went home. Poor DH was frantic.

It helped to escape, even for a few hours.

Hope you feel better soon. 💐

Yes I do. I have had mh issues in the past ( thankfully not now though) and yeah sometimes it would be nice to just vanish and start my life over again.

TheNorthWind · 14/02/2021 14:48

Yes. Very much. It's come and gone since my last years at school.

It's bad just now, but that's at least partly the trapped feeling of lockdown.
