Cold therapy?

Having had a diagnosis of ptsd due to current retrauma episode. I'm looking for thing that make me feel anything but how I'm feeling. It's freezing & snowing where I am. I've just been for a 2hr walk & would normally wrap up warm but instead I had a hoodie, sports leggings, wellies & a scarf. When I got home my legs were so cold they were numb. I felt invigorated. Got into a nice hot bath & I feel super relaxed. Content almost. I'm convinced the cold has helped somehow. Has anyone had cold water therapy?

I think its known that outdoor swimming helps mental health, also cold showers. I love a walk in the cold!

My DH has massively improved his mental health with cold showers (3 mins now, built up from 30 seconds) 3 times a week. He has never been a morning person and his meds make him even more groggy, the cold water therapy is invigorating at the time but also seems to have lasting benefits.
I'm giving it a go this week, did 30 seconds this morning in the shower and plan to build it up. Also going sea swimming with a local group soon so will help build up tolerance for that.
