Stress

Does anyone else on here suffer with stress?

I was diagnosed with stress years ago. It impacts me by making me really struggle for breath, it can be quite scary and it honestly feels like I'm going to pass out. In the past I have dealt with this by managing the stressful situation, cutting back on my commitments, going for walks, seeing friends, getting the kids minded and going for a meal with my husband. It's been fairly low-level and very manageable for years.

We went into lockdown last autumn and I became constantly very tight-chested and agitated. I felt like I was gasping for breath and I was getting palpitations. GP prescribed 40mg propanalol and it really helped. After a while i felt better and just took the odd 10mg if was feeling stressed but for most of November/December was taking basically nothing.

Since January it's just been getting progressively worse. I'm not sleeping at night, it feels like someone has a belt tightened around my chest I'm gasping like a fish out of water. I'm now on 80mg of propanalol which deals with the palpitations but does nothing for the tight chest and I just can't take it anymore. I'm not depressed, I just want to be able to breathe like a normal person and shake this stress off.

I have 5 kids including a toddler who is a nightmare on walks so I can't even get out for the exercise we are allowed. A glass or two of wine works wonders but I'm in danger of becoming an alcoholic if I continue with that!

My GP is a nightmare to get a hold of and I'm a bit worried they're just going to give me more propanalol.

Does anyone else have similar symptoms? What do you take for it?

I suffer with stress but not the chest issues. I do really recommend a 20 min soak in Epsom Salts and taking vitamin C and D and trying to eat well. Can you do exercise inside?

I will give the baths a go. I do take a gold vitamin supplement and eat very well.

I had been doing an exercise app, must get back to it.

Hi,
I think you should definitely get into ayurveda. It has helped me immensely with stress. taking supplements to help balance your stress is very helpful especially given the times.
