BF friendly ADs for PND? Sertraline not an option.

Suffering from just awful PND, eventually prescribed Sertraline but had an awful reaction, couldn't eat for days and was bed bound with migraines.
Dr has now prescribed Paroxetine but I can only find negative feedback, including withdrawal being like coming off heroin!
I have 3 children and DH is a shift worker so something that difficult to come off isn't an option because I won't have support.

Youngest is 10 months so I am willing to stop bf if necessary, though I would prefer to keep on. But any suggestions for ADs I could take.
The need for telephone consultations in the current situation is not helping because the Dr ends up calling during really inopportune moments when I can't concentrate or hear to discuss my options.

Could they try sertraline again but alongside and anti nausea?

There are many other options aside from the two you've mentioned. At this stage I wouldn't go back to Sertraline in your shelves, as you may well find an alternative that doesn't make you nauseous.

Here is an NHS fact sheet on Paroxetine which includes a paragraph on breastfeeding.

Have you checked the BfN website?

It's probably worth getting in touch with your local La Leche League; they'll probably be able to tell you what's worked well for other people and give you some information to pass on to your GP which would help others in future.

Every time I've needed medicine while bf (2) I've essentially had to tell the GP what would be sensible to prescribe

I'm taking mirtazapine whilst breastfeeding

I've been prescribed Imipramene by a Perinatal MH consultant as I had bad side effects with Sertraline. Starting it tomorrow. Safe whilst breastfeeding. Hope you feel better soon x
