Overthinking about health

Really struggling with health anxiety at the moment, the only time I don’t worry about covid is when I have another issue to worry about, last few days it’s worrying over spasms/minor aching in one leg, can’t stop thinking it’s a blood clot, no swelling, redness or bad pain, when I put pressure on it to walk it tingles at the back, feels like it’s a bit tight and spasms, my mind has gone into overdrive googling blood clots, spent all day at work panicking over it and have annoyed my husband once again asking him to keep checking it, my GP can’t offer much more help anxiety wise, already on tablets and have had some CBT sessions. I have no idea what to do with myself anymore

Hi @Arabella2020,

I'm so sorry to hear that you are struggling. I treat a number of people with health anxiety and I would just say explore other therapies. No one approach is right for everyone and there will be a therapy out there that does work for you. Have faith in that. I have suffered with anxiety in the past (at one point having nightly panic attacks) and I tried talking therapies, CBT etc... I had pretty much given up but for me, the one that worked was Cognitive Hypnotherapy and I stumbled upon it by chance as it is not well known. It helped me so much I walked away from my career and now I practice cognitive hypnotherapy. So there absolutely WILL be a therapy approach out there that works for you. Just because one approach doesn't work, or gets you part of the way but not all the way, does not mean you cannot overcome this. You absolutely can. Sending support and lots of luck that you find someone who can guide you through this. xxK
