Do Bupa tell your employer what treatment you are having and how much it is costing?

I'm fairly sure that they don't due to client confidentiality but just wanted to check.
I'm planning to book some therapy for relatively mild anxiety but would rather not have my employer know.

Not as far as I know.

Do you mean that you have private medical insurance so work would be paying?

apieceofcake · 16/01/2021 15:12

If you have private medical paid for by your employer then no absolutely not. Bupa do not disclosure who is having what treatment to the employer. Manage employee benefits including our bupa programme.

redcandlelight · 16/01/2021 15:13

is it bupa cover as employment benefit?

no, diagnosis and treatment are between you and your dr.
different if it's occupational health on behalf of your employer. but even then it's not details but high level information they pass on.

GreenHam · 16/01/2021 15:16

Sorry, should have clarified, I have just started private health insurance paid for by my employer.

Previously have worked for them. No way do they tell employers who is having what treatment. Bupa are legally not allowed to under data protection laws.
