Hey guys I’m tapering off fluoxetine 40mg and starting sertraline 50mg tomorrow. Iv been taking 20mg fluox for the past week. I’m just very scared about the side effects of the sertraline. Should I start at 50 or cut the tablet in half? Cos fluoxetine is from the same ssri family as sertraline will this help with the start up side effects. Any input or advice will be appreciated

Hi 😊 I have been taking sertraline for the last few days and had no side affects at all . If you take half you won't get what you need from the tablet . You can do it op . I'm like you usually with tablets but my anxiety is so bad I would take what ever they give me x

I'm on day 8 of sertraline 50mg and side effects have only been mild. Not everyone gets it badly on 50mg. My advice is to see how you feel and then cut down for a week or so if necessary. That's what my GP suggested I do.
