Anxiety help please...

I have anxiety. I've had it for years and years but recently it's started to spiral. I work for the emergency services, the stress of the job has started to affect me. The constant worrying about making sure people aren't sick it's so overwhelming that I think I need help.
It affects my sleep and eating patterns and recently I have found that I am having panic attacks.

What help have you had? I feel like my GP will think why is she here again!? Do the medicines help? Which ones were you prescribed?

Thanks.

How old are you, op? Might peri-menopause be a culprit? Anxiety/increased anxiety and panic attacks are very common symptoms.

I actaully use to have a good think then because I honestly thought I might of wrote this post ! I feel exactly the same as you op . And when it affects your sleep the worse your going to feel physically and mentally ! I can't imagine what your going through right now working for the emergency services but all I can say is it's normal that it's going to affect you so don't worry about that . Please speak to your doctor . The cases in mental health are going up and up right now and they understand why . I hope you have managed to get some sleep op ❤️ x

Hi, my anxiety is work related and also got out of control. I had a GP phone appointment on Monday and was prescribed Propanolol (beta blocker) and therapy (you can self refer). Propanolol is supposed to take away the physical symptoms of anxiety (racing heart, adrenaline rush, etc) I only started yesterday so not sure if it was placebo effect but I felt less panicky at work. I hope you get some help. It really is important so call your surgery.
