Zopiclone after taking diazepam

Does anyone know if it's safe to take zopiclone after diazepam? I usually take 7.5mg zopiclone at night but this evening I took a 2.5mg diazepam at about half 9 due to severe anxiety. It's not enough to help me sleep though.

They're from the same family of medication. Zopiclone is like taking a stack of diazepam, in a way.

I would be wary of taking them too close together.

The diazepam will potentially exacerbate the effects of the zopiclone.

I came off zopiclone after the first lockdown, I'd been on it for ten years

i take diazepam and zolpidem (same family as zopiclone) every day without issue.

diazepam is a benzodiazepine, zopiclone is not.

i’ve been taking diazepam and z-drugs for 11 years now. i am not a doctor, obviously, but the two are distinct classifications of meds. check your info leaflet for contraindications.

Thanks @fucknuckle had done a google search which had said the same thing. Just helpful to have some anecdotal evidence! Do you mind me asking what you take it for? I've got complex PTSD.

i have borderline personality disorder, major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder, complex PTSD and OCD.

i take 2 antidepressants, an anti-psychotic, diazepam and sleepers. i also have arthritis so have a pain patch. it’s a miracle i’m ever awake!

i’m sorry to hear you’re very stressed today. are you feeling any better now? C-PTSD is horrible. do you get any therapy?

with all my pain and psych meds i’m up to 20 different medications now. there’s no mental health support in my area and the pain clinic is shut so i just keep getting my repeat prescriptions and nobody bats an eyelid!

I battled generalised anxiety disorder for years but the anxiety just kept on coming and in October I got diagnosed with CPTSD. I take 2 types of antidepressant now too as well as beta blockers and I've been on zopiclone for 2 and a half months but even with that I'm still so anxious. I've got a psychiatrist but he didn't return my call today. I also started therapy in November so I can't complain about lack of services there's just been a break over Christmas and inevitably I've felt sh*t 😔

I take clonazepam diazepam and zopiclone together at bed time, always fine for me.
