This probably sounds silly but how do you know when to seek help for anxiety? Anxiety happens to everyone at times but how can you tell when you need to seek help?

I suppose if it's debilitating or impacting on your ability to function as a parent, or in a job.
That said, before trying medication, have you tried natural ways? Meditation, good gut health (direct link to seratonin production), vitamins & minerals, mindfulness, yoga, massage, exercise, breathing exercises, magnesium for improved sleep, breathing exercises, online therapy, cutting out sugar and alcohol, reducing caffeine. Doing more of the hobbies and activities that make you feel calm.

When it starts interfering with your day to day life.

I am trying more natural ways which do help a bit. I'm not at work at the moment I'm on long term sick leave but hoping to return which I am anxious about but just worried that once I return my anxiety will get worse.

The more you avoid something, the more anxious you'll be. I would do everything possible to try and get back to work. It will help.
