hello all. I'm really worried about my niece. She has ingrowing toenails on both feet that are so severe she can't walk but she refuses treatment for them. My sister got her to the podiatrist who said okay we need to cut these out and my niece threw the mother of all fits over it. there's more going on than this - she's basically lived in her bedroom since lockdown, barely coming out at all and keeping weird hours; she has unresolved issues relating to the death of her father, who she had a terrible relationship with and refused to see in the last 3 months of his life; her mum is a single parent to 3 girls around the same age and she admits she can't cope with this one any more; my niece had CAMHS treatment for anxiety a couple of years ago (she has panic attacks too) but after a while refused to see the counsellor any more. there's a lot to unpack here! does anyone have the slightest idea where to start? thank you for any help you can give.

Poor thing she sounds really unwell.

I would call the NHS mental health hotline

www.nhs.uk/service-search/mental-health/find-an-urgent-mental-health-helpline

And start there, she may need some kind of intervention.
