I sustained an injury on my nose over a week ago and I am terrified that it will scar. The wind smashed the wheelie bin lid onto it bruising and cutting it. Went to minor injuries unit, triage nurse said they would close the wound with glue or strips, second nurse opted to do nothing (after ascertaining nose was not broken). Dressed it myself with hydrocolloidal plasters but the wound does not seem to be knitting together properly. This is the first time I have dared to check - DH has been changing the plasters for me.
I'm really struggling because I have BDD. My skin is a bit of a mess anyway and I'm ugly and scarring on my nose isn't going to help. I want to go and see someone (am willing to pay whatever it take privately) to try to minimize the risk of scarring but I don't know where to go. I am furious with the nurse for not treating it at the time.
Does anyone know where I can go? As regards my mental health I have been in touch with the local crisis team and they said to take Diazepam.
