For some background, i have had mental health problems for years and have been known to mental health services for a long time. Severe depression, BPD traits and possible bipolar, also anxiety and OCD, not functioning, distressed every day, lost job. Re-referred back to them in September, and after months of being played around by them I'm now being told that im not going to have a full psychiatric assessment for a month and a half. Now i understand that mental health services are underfunded and its not all about me, but i break down crying when I'm told that i'll just have to deal with this distress for another month and a half without their support. I really dont know what to do with myself. Anyone else her had to wait for a while for support and found a way of getting through? Thanks x

Sorry you are struggling right now. My close friend also was on a long waiting list. She said she contacted Mind, a MH charity in U.K. and they had this “sanctuary” type place she went to to talk with a counsellor whenever things got to crisis. They also had an online service call EleFriends to chat online with other people struggling with MH.
