Talking to Drs about depression

Thanks to all those who helped me on Tuesday. I was in a really bad way and you guys were great! I've finally managed to get a GP appointment for Friday. Its not with my normal GP but I've seen this one before and she seems nice.
I just don't know how to explain everything thats been happening.I'm not normally a "talky" kind of person, I'm more someone who just gets on with things and keeps everything to myself. (I realise its not healthy but its the only way I know). When I tried to talk to my HV she just said "I'm not surprised you're depressed!". I'm scared I'll bottle out, cos I have some medical things to ask about as well.
Any help to get over my nerves much appreciated.

Type it out. I am like you, more pro active than talky, and found this ideal when I went to see my gp for same reason. I had a locum I didn't know so I was really releved I had written it all down. I just mumbled something about being worried I'd forget something and handing him my letter! Anyway it worked and hopefully things are now on the up. Good luck fo Friday, take your time in there, don't eave without asking everything you need, then you will feel satisfied when you come out.
