ok i think i might need to go see the doctor and ask for anti depressents...was speaking to a few friends who said that they have been put on meds for depression,

i asked them how they behavied beforehand and they summed how how i feel right now. im snappy and irrational, i know im being unreasonable but i cant help myself! somedays i wake up all positive and others i think to myself whats the point?

my poor dp shoulnt have to put up with me being this way. would be interested to hear how anyone finds being on antidepresents and would you 'recommed them' so to speak. thanks

OK - i am on citalopram (a bit like prozac) and have been for a few months now. I had severe depression and anxiety and for me, they have been a life saver. For anyone suffering from depression and anxiety and if recommended by a doctor i would say go for it. However, be very careful about asking for them if what you are feeling is just general level of tiredness and strain of being a mum. You don't specify your behaviour or how you are feeling and what the triggers are.

By all means go to the doctors and see what they say, there are other forms of help out there too. Try this site (google moodgym) it is an online form of CBT and it has a questionaire which, if you answer honestly and true to yourself, will give you an insight into the level of help you might need, if any. We all have down times, for some of us it is depression (it may well be the case for you) but comparison to friends is not the best marker IMO. My doctor recommended this site and says it is really useful, ive played around with it, just havent had time to work through it yet (too much time on Mnet!)

Hope you feel better soon.
