Long story short, got myself in such a state today that I called 999. I don't know how this can get much worse. Waiting for paramedic to call back

I am sorry Rainbow.

I am here (meant to be working but admittedly am not) if you would like to chat.

Handholding here until they get hold of you.

Do you want to say what's on your mind? Or maybe what you feel you need to help you? No pressure to say anything.

So earlier on my panic got so bad that I went down to the motorway bridge looking for a way out. I'm not exactly suicidal, just very very scared and desperate. I felt so stuck, I called the police and they came out. They were lovely. I'm home now and safe but the thoughts are still there and I'm so scared. I'm waiting for a psychiatric assessment. I've had problems all my life but it's never been this bad.

Thank goodness you didn't do anything my lovely, please have a nice drink and put something on the tv and snuggle up nice and safe. What's scaring you my sweet? Xxx

Gazelda · 14/10/2020 13:28

I'm glad your safe.
Are you warm and comfy? Get a hot drink and snuggle down. Be extra kind to yourself.
I hope you get a call quickly and some real help to get you back on track.

Taken a diazepam and waiting for an urgent assessment. I'm just not sure how it's come to this. Where is the normal logical me?

Here too chat if you need one

rainbowninja · 15/10/2020 22:58

Aww thanks @kateshair I'm still feeling so anxious but at least I haven't dialled 999. I have to say the police were amazing, far more helpful than any other service I've been in contact with!

How are you feeling now rainbowninja?

rainbowninja · 16/10/2020 15:50

Hey @Nogodsnomasters thanks for asking, still anxious but focusing all my energies on getting help which isn't proving that easy (that's a whole other thread 🙈)

I'm sorry you are struggling OP
Did you have an assessment to decide what help is available?

Ringsender2 · 16/10/2020 21:22

Hi, good evening rainbow

I'm so glad you got help when you needed it. Well done for keeping it together enough to do that. Good to hear they were helpful, too. I hope that you continue to manage and get the longer-term help you need.

Nogodsnomasters · 16/10/2020 21:23

Oh I know, it was difficult before covid but now it's ridiculously hard. Just keep being good to yourself, lots of baths, pampering, reading, whatever you enjoy that's soothing. Walking with headphones in is very good for my anxiety.

Eloisedublin123 · 16/10/2020 21:24

Hi OP how are you this evening? I’m thinking of you from Ireland and hoping you’re ok x

rainbowninja · 16/10/2020 22:52

Thanks all, it was a horrible panicky situation earlier in the week but it's not been as bad since albeit still not great. GP made the referral to community mental health team today and I'm trying to get something privately in the meantime. Crisis support team came to see me yesterday too.

Unfortunately no easy answers to my situation as anxiety's been an issue since childhood but it's been under far better control in the past. Becoming a parent seems to have finished me off 😩
