Citalopram

The GP prescribed me 20mg of citalopram and advised to take 10mg for a week then increase to 20mg.

I have stayed at 10mg for two weeks because so far I felt better. When I wake up I don't feel a crushing weight and I want to get up and face the day. It is easier to focus and respond to stress.

I have just had a heavy period and I feel quite low. I also feel quite stressed with work. I usually pick up around days 5-7 (day 5 tomorrow). I am so tired.

Has anyone moved from 10 to 20mg and were there side effects?

I moved from 10 to 20 after a couple of months when 10 wasn't working as well and didn't have any bad effects, did the trick. From 0 to 10 I really struggled with headaches and fatigue.

As far as I know 10mg is considered sub clinical. So worth upping if it's not working the whole time.

I take 40mg and get no side effects. It works really well for me.

Interesting. I am really tired. Bloods normal. Didn't consider it was a side effect.

No side affects for me either. I upped to 20mg. Just make sure you keep active and I'm sure you'll feel better in no time :)

Hello OP! I had tiredness when upping my citalopram dosage but it gradually went. I don't take it any more but of it works stick at it and the tiredness will level out xx

I am sticking with it and hoping the tiredness will go. I am also tearier than usual. I do have a lot going on.
