Hi All,

I’d like some tips on coping with anxiety. Preferably without pills! It’s all stemming from hairloss caused by my hormones. I’ve started on treatment which helped massively before but this time it’s not kicked in yet and I’m having a huge problem controlling my thoughts. Terrified I’m going to go bald, I’ve been feeling really really down. Borderline obsessive now, counting every hair that falls. Not sure what to do 😥😥😥😥😥

Is your anxiety just about your hair? Is it just that you can’t stop thinking about it or is there other things you’re anxious about too? Xx

@Claire347 - it is just about my hair. I’ve lost a lot although I’ve been told it’s not noticeable to others. I’m constantly touching it, working myself up when I have to wash it etc. It’s on my mind all the time. I’m terrified I’m going to lose it all. I try to tell myself I’ve on treatment that helped before but I’m still so very worried. I think it’s because I have no control over it.

Aw I’m sorry you’re feeling like that, it probably is the fact you’ve no control over it it’s making you anxious. As it’s something that is making you feel not so good about yourself and worried why don’t you try and do something that makes you feel good about yourself, you could look on YouTube for some home workouts and try that?

Also YouTube have guided meditation for anxiety that you could listen too if it’s something you worry about and it’s keeping you awake at night?

Xx

Hi op, I’m sorry that you are experiencing anxiety, it can feel debilitating at times. Flowers
You say your anxiety is stemming from hair loss. Maybe it would help to look at that a little deeper, to understand what that means, emotionally for you. What aspect of the hair loss is causing you the most distress? How do you imagine the hair loss impacting your life?
