Mitazipine withdrawal

I have been on mirt for 6 months due to severe insomnia, anxiety and depression. My psychiatrist has come up with me weaning from the drug as I am a lot better. We are handing my dosage for a month then so on. All I'm reading are bad stories. Are there any positive withdrawal success stories?

I had to stop it cold turkey after about 4 months and had no withdrawal symptoms.

That makes me feel a little bit better. Anybody else?

Watching with interest, I'm on max dose over a year now, not happy about it, it's not working for me but I'm not getting support to come off it OR an alternative so I'm stuck for now,

I too am very anxious though from what I've read about withdrawal issues and am dreading it!

I've not much support. I've read horror stories about coming off and to only reduce by 10% a month but my psychiatrist has said 50% a month is doable. I'm so
Scared to try wean off but I have to do. As much as I'm better I'm also 2 stone heavier and foggy headed all
Day!

I was on for a month and stopped immediately without physical side effects (The mirtazipine had caused weight gain which made worsened depression so mentally also better for me to be off it).

Did the weight just drop off or did you have to work at it for it to go? I've always been rather slim so I feel massive!

For me it took a long time, but I think exacerbated because I was depressed. I put on 10kg in a month. I’ve never been a proper stable weight since, but not too bad at the moment.

I've been on Mirtazapine for about 8 years and have withdrawn from it this summer.

I have tried before but never managed - the difference this time is I am taking Citalopram instead.

My head has been fine, which is the most important thing, but the physical side effects have been awful - constant diarrhoea and itchy skin. I'm dosed up on immodium and antihistamine which is helping but it's a bit miserable.

I'm determined to do it this time - haven't taken any it over a month.

The weight is coming off already without too much effort, because I'm just not as hungry all the time as I was.

Good luck with your withdrawal - you can do it!
