Sertraline not working

Hi,

I was on citalopram 40mg for a number of years and after a marriage breakdown I felt it wasn’t working anymore so GP changed me to sertraline 150mg, which I have being on for nearly 4 months.
I don’t really feel these are working either, I still feel really depressed, no energy etc and now starting to get physical anxiety symptoms.

Should I ask to go on a new Thorpe or to increase to 200mg?

Thanks

I’d go back to the gp and let her know these tablets do not seem to be helping.

I’d also ask if bloods could be done to rule out anaemia, b12 deficiency etc which can make you really tired.

Pins and needles in my fingers were my first symptom of something in my blood needing tablets. I can’t remember if it was the b12 or folic acid that gave my that symptom but it’s sorted now I’m on those tablets.

Do you take any physical exercise? A short daily walk can really help your body and also make your mind tired so you sleep better. I always felt energised after even though I’d been shattered before!

Doing some yoga or tai chi or mindfulness can really help calm your nerves.

If you go for a walk and feel worse the following day(s) it could be ME/chronic fatigue.

If you’re not eating well change that. I did and had more energy a week later. Now I cook stuff rather than buy diet ready meals.
