lorazepam not working

I feel extremely depressed and I just took some lorazepam
it hasn't made a difference
why

Have you taken the correct dosage? I took 2mg at first. Sometimes takes half an hour to kick in too.

I also took it for anxiety and sedation rather than depression...maybe speak to your doctor if this continues?

I thought lorazepam was more for the treatment of anxiety and to help you relax rather than depression.

Lorazepam as said is for anxiety not depression, you need to get antidepressants

Hi @flatlife I take lorazepam to calm down my paranoia; but I take actual anti depressants for the depression part of my illness.

If you're not on anti depressants then speak to your gp - if you are & they're not working then perhaps the dose is not high enough or maybe you need a different type.

Lorazepam is not for depression.
