I have taken two of these tablets so far, started them on Wednesday.
Wednesday I was fine.
Thursday woke up with dreadful headache.
Last night had a very restless nights sleep. Woke up at 4am this morning and couldn't get back to sleep for over an hour.
Again, have woken up with headache and feel ever so slightly shaky today.
Anyone had symptoms like this while taking them?
I have read through the leaflet in the box and it lists numerous side effects - some quite scary - but I'm surprised that I should be feeling these effects so early on.

I did too, they do make you feel slightly worse before they start to work. Please stick with them.

Hello - I started off on 10mg 6 weeks ago, had similar side effects to you, nausea, dry mouth, restless nights sleep these settled after about 5 days. 3 weeks ago my doctor increased me to 20mg, went through similar side effects but only for coupls of days & am now feeling MUCH BETTER & feel like I can deal with life in general more easily - if you can get through the side effects ive found them great! x x

Yes I will stick with them. Don't want to stay at the bottom of this slippery slope anymore.

I started having the most awful dreams. Usually things from my past, all mixed up with current events. Hang in , it does get better.

I'm on day 11 of these things now. I seem to be feeling a lot different with them and am assuming they are side effects. The headaches stopped on about day 5, thank goodness. I'm still finding myself feeling quite shaky and I'm not sleeping very well. I never really had much of a problem with my sleep before I started taking them so it's a bit of a pain. If I wake in the night for any reason, ie going to the loo or one of the dds disturbs, it's taking me a good hour to an hour and a half to get back to sleep again.
It's interesting to read back through this thread again though. I can related to Yorkiemum's post. Last night I was sweating absolute buckets.

You will be fine very soon regarding the side effects. Citalopram worked really well for me and one day you will suddenly realise that you really didn't realise just how bad you felt and how hard things were before the tablets.
I used to tak citalopram but am on a different one now because of breast feeding. Despite the fact I had been succesfully on Ad's before, I was very resistant to taking them again...I was wrong...I have my life back and it's great!

ive been on them for nearly 5 wks and feel a lot better now, despite the odd suicidal moment which made me feel worse than ever..
