Self help books for self esteem?

If I see another meme or journal or hoodie saying “be kind to yourself” I am going to throw up.

My inner voice is vicious, but I do not believe I deserve kindness so I cannot just “be kind”. I know I struggle with perfectionism and low self esteem, with a sprinkling or social anxiety, and I am looking for a self help book or some sort of journal that will guide me to let go of some of my negativity towards myself and learn to be positive, but it must have proper substance (i.e. Not a colouring book of slogans such as “you are enough” Envy unless it it also going to teach me how to believe that.)
Many something cbt/ACT based??
Can anyone make and recommendations??

Thanks

I kind of like the way you are criticising the sugary simplistic self help books!
One I like is They mindful path to self-compassion’ by Christopher Germer -it’s intelligent and practical. The other is ‘Just One Thing’. By Rick Hanson, which is simple, but sensible. No colouring!
