Can you take diazepam alongside sertraline?

My anxiety is quite bad at the moment a week into taking sertraline. Raving intrusive thoughts. Is it safe to take diazepam prescribed by the doctor alongside it?

Of course. Lots of people have both depression and anxiety and take both of these.
